Article Writing - How Many Ghostwriters Begin

How did I get started in the ghostwriting business? Quite by accident, really. I was (and still am) an affiliate marketer, meaning I sell other merchants products online. In promoting these products, I wrote many articles.

I logged in one day to submit another article, and realized that I had written over 600 articles! The thought instantly occured to me, "Why not become a ghostwriter?" I love writing about different topics, and must say I'm pretty darn good.

Article writing is now my first priority, although I do write reports and ebooks as well. If the subject is familiar to me, it takes me about 10 to 15 minutes to whip up an excellent quality article. Of course if I have to research the topic it takes longer - but look how much I learn!

Every ghostwriter should write articles, no doubt about it.

You Never Know What the Topic Will Be!

When I first began as a ghostwriter, I was a bit surprised at the variety of topics people wanted content for. People usually think of the normal things - marketing, health, weight loss, things like that.

Some of the topics I have written about nearly blew my mind, but I proceeded on and did fine. Here are some of the first topics I had to write about:

Gold Bars and Bullion
Spyware
Exotic Dancing

Quite a suprise, isn't it? At least I didn't have to write about klingons my first time out. I have written on a few normal topics as well. Brand marketing, skin care, affiliate marketing and health remedies are some of the things I really love to write about. As a ghostwriter, you really have to learn how to research and write on nearly any topic imaginable.

When you are a ghostwriter, you never know what's just around the corner!

Ghostwriting - My first project

I will never forget the day I finally got the nerve to promote my services. When you market affiliate products, you can really maintain a low profile. You don't necessarily have to "put yourself out there" so others can see what you are all about.

On the first day after I had decided I would become a ghostwriter, I decided to put an ad on Craigslist. I set up an account, did the phone verification, and placed an ad. As I clicked on the "publish my ad" button, I nearly fainted.

I thought to myself, what will I do if someone responds to my ad? It's a very different feeling when you are paid to write for someone else than when you are writing for yourself. I sucked it in, and told myself I would be fine. And I was.

The very next day, I had my first client! This client wanted 10 articles about a topic I was somewhat familiar with. What luck, that I didn't start right off with a subject like klingons or something. Anyway, that client was very happy and gave me more work. In fact, I still write for him.

I have since written about many topics, and it gets easier with each one. Ghostwriting really isn't that difficult, and it is very rewarding producing content that will help someone else's business.

Stay tuned for more!

I'm Glad You are Here!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Tess Tackett, and I am a professional ghost writer (or ghostwriter) depending on how you like to spell it. I love writing, so this is the perfect way for me to work at home and make a living.

I began this career a few months ago, almost as an afterthought. As an affiliate marketer, I was writing many articles. After completing over 600, I thought to myself "why not become a ghostwriter, too"? I mean I really enjoy writing, and learning about various topics. I believe in order to be good at this type of career, you really have to enjoy what you do.

Anyway, welcome and I hope you follow my adventures as I make my way through the world wide web!
